Prenatal Telehealth Clinic
Rural OB Access and Maternal Services, simply known as ROAMS, is a program designed to provide excellent care through pre and postnatal support services for mothers in rural northern New Mexico.
Through the ROAMS program, free services are available to pregnant or new mothers in Union County, as well as Toas, Colfax, Mora, and Harding counties. These services include prenatal care, telehealth, breastfeeding education, and family navigators who can help connect you to the services you need.
Jay Fluhman, FNP-C, ACNP leads the prenatal telehealth clinic at Union County Health Center. Our facilities feature state-of-the-art equipment for pregnancies, including an ultrasound machine, vitals machine, and fetal heart rate monitor.
ROAMS SERVICES
Prenatal Care
Meeting with a healthcare provider is important to ensuring the health of baby and mom. ROAMS assists with providing network care in rural areas, allowing patients to stay close to home to receive the services they need. UCGH provides prenatal, pregnancy & OB appointments with telehealth capabilities.
Telehealth
ROAMS is helping to bring telehealth services to pregnant women in Union County by offering patients the option of scheduling an appointment with UCHC and using telehealth connectivity to meet with the Miners Colfax Medical Center practitioner and other high-risk medical specialists from right here in Clayton. Some patients may also be eligible for free home telehealth kits, allowing providers to more effectively monitor and care for pregnancies.
Breastfeeding
Free lactation support services are also available for through ROAMS and UCGH. Lactation consultants can help mothers succeed on their breastfeeding journeys and assist with questions and concerns. Family navigators can help mothers get connected to a consultant.
